Why do I call this small section of the blogging world "Now is the Time"? Those words are a reminder to us that it is time to wake up from the sleep that we have been in as the church of Jesus Christ. The world we live in, where God strategically placed us, is a hurting world. It is a lost world. A world that does not know up from down and right from left. A world where good is bad and bad is good. A world where yesterday's immorality has become today's morality.
As the church, for the last few decades we have had our head in the sand hoping that the problems of the world would go away. We have failed to see ourselves as the ones to bring the solution. In fact, I would dare say that we have been a part of the problem. I would like to point out a few things that have developed while we were sleeping...
1. We stopped being a God-fearing nation.
2. We have become a culture trying to find peace without God.
3. Politics and personalities have become the gods of the land reaching the hearts and minds of all.
4. We have become a secular society in search of pleasure rather than searching for God.
5. The lust for greed and power has replaced serving and putting others first.
6. Selfish instant gratification has become the ruling emotion.
7. The sanctity of life has been lost.
8. A sexual revolution has engulfed our nation with carnal desires.
9. Honesty has been replaced with deception.
10. Government has evolved into a non-responsive bloated bureaucratic institution.
11. First amendment rights have lost their original meaning.
12. The family is self-destructing and is the main casualty of our society.
If you are not a believer of Jesus Christ, I would like to personally apologize for letting you down. For not loving you, as God said I should. I am hoping that through this blog, I will be able to help others awake from the sleep we have been in. We are called to be the answer, instead we have been the great enigma.
